Any FTM in here?

Anyone else a FTM and planned on doing all natural birth but now that it’s getting close starting to get scared?! 😅 
-I will not change my mind on no epidural. 
But I’m starting to freak out. 😂

I’m a FTM and I’m just going in with no expectations.
All I know is I’d rather not have a C-Section, other than that I don’t want to put pressure on myself.

I truly wish all of you moms the best of luck with your no epidural goals.
Just don’t try to be superwoman and suffer through agony because you think it’s the thing to do. Everyone has different pain tolerance levels and some women may tell you “oh it was the best birth ever it didn’t even hurt” and some will try to scare you and say “you’re going to feel like you’re dying” but the truth is you won’t know until you’re in the moment. It can go either way for you or right down the middle.
Personally, I have experienced birth and I would never, never, ever, in a million trillion gajillion years, EVER have a baby without an epidural. F that noise. It is so gdamn painful. At least for me it was. The contractions were agony and I really hated every single minute of it. I hope all of your births go to plan and everyone has healthy and happy babies :)

I'm a FTM! You live your truth and do whatever you want. 
I am still undecided on epidural, mostly because I don't feel like I can imagine what labor feels like,  so I can't fathom what I can and cannot handle. I like the idea of being able to eat,  and also of being able to walk or move around. But weighing that against pain is difficult to cost benefit analysis without actually knowing cost. My birth plan is straight up to decide when I'm in labor 🤷‍♀️

FTM here! And I’m feeling EXACTLY what you’re feeling now 😭. I’m dead set on a natural birth and I’m not changing my mind, but everyone around me keeps talking about how I’m going to end up getting an epidural because of the pain. Basically pushing the epidural on me and it’s making me think 😭. Bottom line: I still want a natural birth and I’m pushing all their thoughts away lol!

FTM! Yes!! Less than 4 weeks out and it’s starting to get real. I’ve wanted to try a natural, unmedicated birth since the beginning. But, people keep telling me that I’ll get an epidural. It’s kind of aggravating honestly. I figured people would be more supportive of my choices and encouraging. Anyways, I’m going in with the mindset of no epidural. There are just so many risks and I’m the type of person that normally falls in the 1% with any risks. BUT, I did tell my husband that if I change my mind during labor and want the epidural to just be supportive of my decision.

I’ve told myself I’m only getting an epidural if I have back labor. I don’t like back pain at all. But at the same time I’m not too worried about it. Whatever happens happens as long as baby and I are fine, that’s all that matters to me.

I’m a TTM and I’ve went all natural with both kids and due in 5 weeks and going natural with this last baby. To me it’s not all that bad I said I didn’t want a epidural and I didn’t get one I put it in my head to just stay strong and fight it out. It was hard but I did it both times and well worth it getting up not being numb nor sore or have to get cut on. Y’all can do it ladies good luck to us all...

As a FTM I was positive i was NOT having an epidural. I put that much pressure on myself and in the end it ended with an epidural because of forceps and the risk of emergency c-section. Second time round I said from the beginning...as soon as I am dilated enough I was 100% having an epidural. My labor was just as long with the exact complications as the first it was just a much nicer experience. This time I'll be asking for one as I arrive 😂
You absolutely can do this without an epidural 💪🏼 just don't put pressure on yourself. I cried that I'd 'failed' after my first but actually accepting that it might be needed made my second experience way better. You got this!

STM here. My only advice would be to research all options. My sister-in-laws were dead set on natural births and ended up with C-sections and bad recoveries. I wanted a natural birth, but still researched epidurals and C-sections. I felt empowered when making my decision at the last minute. My water broke before contractions started and I progressed so fast that the pain was excruciating!!! In the end, I asked for an epidural at 6cm and was so thankful to get a break before pushing at the end. Contractions tend to be stronger once your water has broken or if you receive pitocin, so keep that in mind when others share their birth stories. My cousin’s water never broke and her labor was easy. Your decision is yours, just be informed and do NOT get down on yourself if you end up going another direction. You’ll know in the moment what you can handle!
