Small uterus?

Carli

With my first pregnancy my doctor thought my fluid was on the low end of normal at my last ultrasound. My baby was also breech. This was at 36w5d. I was told to hydrate like crazy and maybe she’d turn herself. The very next night I went into labor. I had excruciating back labor for 11 hours before my doctor came in and confirmed I’d need a c section. After the surgery, my doctor informed me my fluid had been fine, but it turned out I had a pretty small uterus. He said it wasn’t really a concern, but I would likely need another c section because the size and scar tissue would increase my risks of uterine rupture. He also said my babies would likely be on the smaller side. My daughter was born perfectly healthy, but only 5lbs8oz. She completely caught up on weight by the first month with no health issues. I’m now pregnant with my second. I’m absolutely ok with another c section, but I am concerned with going into labor early again. It worked out great last time because my doctor was the surgeon on call that night. I just really trust him for the surgery because my recovery was a breeze and my scar was very small and healed so well. I’m also getting my tubes tied this time, because economically we couldn’t handle more than 2. We both agreed that if we change our mind later in life fostering and adopting are the path we’ll take. I know this post rambled on but I just wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences and to also just share a little.
