Is my boyfriend hiding me?

I’ll try to make this as summarised as I can. Ive been getting feeling that my (20) boyfriend (39) is trying to hide me from his family. We’ve been dating for almost a year now and we haven’t met each others families. My parents know about him but I don’t live with them so the conversation of them meeting him rarely comes up. However I’m 80% sure his family knows nothing about me. And yes I’m 100% sure he doesn’t secretly have a wife and kids, we spend too much time together for that to be the case. I’ve invited him multiple times to family gatherings but he’s always declined. He even passed on a family birthday party for me, which I thought would be a good time to introduce him to everyone. He never invited me to anything that involves his relatives. It’s starting to feel weird at this point and it makes me uncomfortable. Is it the age gap? I don’t know what to do

Sounds like he does have a wife/girlfriend. Just because y’all spend a lot of time together doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a wife or kids. Also he’s old enough to be your dad so he might just feel weird.

Like others have said. He has something else going on. A 19 year age gap is quite a lot and I’m sure he feels weird about that too. If he’s not married and has no kids then you need to be asking yourself why this 39 year old man doesn’t have those things. If it’s because he doesn’t want a wife/kids then he will not want to take the next step with you in meeting your family and vice versa.

At a year of dating, especially if you’re spending that much time together, you should have met at least one family member. 
Something seems strange. I would bring it up and see what he says about it

The fact that he’s 40, dating someone half good age should have been your first red flag. A year and not meeting family, whether or not they have events, he’s hiding you and things from you.

I'm not getting the vibe that he has an wife and children, but I am getting a vibe that he dosent think his family would necessarily like or approve of you. It's an issue, whatever the reason.

Spending too much time with someone means nothing. I spent everyday with my ex. Still a cheater. But after a year of dating and you haven’t met family... I would have some questions. 3 months in I met family. In my relationship before last. My last relationship he had family everywhere when I visited him.

I am telling you that it 100% does not matter how much time he spends with you. It really doesn’t. He can still have a wife or girlfriend and/or kids elsewhere. They could be separated but not divorced. Which would explain why he refuses to let you meet his family but still has time for you. You are only 20 years old. I hate to say this but in HIS eyes, you are young; naive, and ignorant. He is playing you, it is really obvious.
