Am I right to be annoyed?

I find it extremely annoying when people attribute the good things in my life because I’m “lucky”. My sister had won a giveaway and when I mentioned it to my friend, she made a comment about how my family gets things easy or is lucky. So I asked her to expand and she began to point out my good grades, my scholarship, and my accommodating workplace.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves because as a young POC woman who had immigrant parents, I had to WORK for all of those things. I applied to numerous scholarships, study hard, and go out of my comfort zone for growth opportunities. I feel like it diminishes all the hard work that goes into getting those things and that it's very bitter. Then, on top of that, she’ll ask for advice or help with schoolwork and then turn around and also feel like why should she listen to me because I have it good and don’t understand where she’s coming from.
