Changing wordobe style? Frequently ? Affordability

Ive been trying to build my wardrobe into the style i like. I usually buy 1 out fit every month or couple of months.

But ive seen some people who change their wordobe with whatever's trending. My question is, how do they afford it???  Its like as soon as it changes they already have a whole set put together.

So the thing is you buy a few prices that are timeless and can be matched with anything, that's what you spend the money on for a few months. You will want them to stay nice forever. So a great pair of black skinny jeans or leather leggings and a basic white tee that is flowy and able to tuck, then depending on your coloring snag your colors in a tee, next you want to do a killer pair of jeans, ect... Ok so depending on your lifestyle you get your base. That very seldom changes or goes out of style.
Now you add the fun in style prices. Spend the money at old navy and use sales or diy and get one or two pieces to throw on your base, like a hoodie or maybe a pair of sneakers, things that are easy to replace and don't need much money spent, I like to have fun with that and throw accessories out there too. If I love a trend I try to pick out what makes the trend for me and then add one or two prices to my clothes for a while. Then I wear the crap out of them and when I feel like changing it up I donate or sell them and get something new and different. The key is to build your base so you are not replacing your base clothes all the time and can just add the trend pieces. If your on Pinterest check out base wardrobe and capsule. Also thrift and use poshmark (or places like that). When you purchase a piece think about price per wear. A pair of shoes for 150$ - how long will I wear these and how long until I replace them?
