9 month old loves to hit.

I know he doesn’t know, but my son is getting pretty aggressive when it comes to hitting especially In the face. I grab his arms and tell him no and he laughs. So today, I started fake crying, his little face turned sour and he started to cry. I feel horrible for hurting his feelings I just don’t know how else to show him it’s not okay to hit. Afterwards I took some deep breaths. Gave him smiles and kisses and said “we’re okay we’re okay” any advice??
