Just need opinions.. please read description

If money wasn’t an issue, would you take a hand me down baby bed or buy your own? I feel rude not taking it but I know beds & stuff have safety regulations that need followed— like tossing a car seat after it’s been in a wreck.. my mother in law is also very pushy & wants me to use my husbands bed from when he was little.
