Thoughts on private scans?

My dating ultrasound is January 12 and I’ll be 11 weeks exactly. I’m having a super hard time waiting and just want to see baby and know it’s progressing well and doing okay. 
I can go to a private place this week and it’s $99 for a 2D ultrasound, heart beat and photos I think. 
What are your thoughts?

If you can afford to, why not? It's your money, your decision

I wouldn't just because of covid. The less elective activities the better. I don't go get a haircut, manicures, or anything of the sort because I am avoiding possible covid exposure as much as I can and am just sticking to grocery shopping every other week as my outings.

I think they’re a waste personally. I do fine just waiting for dr to do it. I’d rather not waste the money. I did it with my first but that’s cause my SIL had to practically drag me to the place 🙄 She paid so I was glad I didn’t spend my own on it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I had 3 miscarriages after my son so she was the one being all freaked out 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn’t need more ultrasounds

I think they’re great! Especially now when a lot of places only allow patients in for appointments.

I did it twice actually. I loved it. The lady that did my ultrasounds is a nurse and she works part time for the ultrasound place and she works at a doctor office. She has been doing ultrasounds for like 30 years. It was great.

I did only because my last one was at 8 weeks and I wouldn’t have another until nearly 20 so I went ahead and had one at 13. With my history of miscarriage I was too nervous to wait.
However yours isn’t too long, so I would just wait if you can but you certainly don’t have to!

At this stage (9-10weeks) there really wont be much to see. You are better off waiting.

I went 2 times early in my pregnancy (9 weeks and 13), but it wasn't $99 for a 2D I don't believe. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was having weekly ultrasounds through my Dr. though, but if I wasn't I probably would've paid for another one.
