Grandparents who are never wrong

Vent post.... anyone have your own parents that talk to your kids over the phone and when you reprimand your kids after they do/say something wrong, the grandparent(s) try to basically say the kid did nothing wrong and undermine your parenting? If that makes any sense. I just found out I’m pregnant again and we were going to surprise our parents over the phone tonight but when my 8 year decided to say some hateful things (out of nowhere), my husband and I reprimanded him and my mother told my son he did nothing wrong blah blah blah. And of course arguing started bc my mother is “never wrong” so I hung up on her.... which is definitely not the first time she’s done crap like this. So, so much for my exciting news. Last time she did this, we didn’t speak for over a year and she missed out on my whole pregnancy and birth of my almost 2 year old. Anyone have those kind of parents?
