Bottles

Hannah

My son is going to be 4 months next week. He’s starting to learn how to hold his own bottle. Like he’ll each time I put the bottle up to his mouth, grab onto it and try to hold it himself. I wanted to get him a bottle with handles to make it a little easier for him to hold and then maybe once or twice a day spend time during a feeding slowly encouraging or introducing him to holding the bottle himself. He is clearly trying and for the most part doing a good job but I’m not sure if there’s a better way to go about doing this? I’m not going to push him to hold it obviously but if he’s acting like he wants to hold it or is actually trying to, I want to encourage that.

Anyone with experience have any tips?

Also, any bottle with handles recommendations? I was looking and saw something called a transitional bottle. Is that for AFTER they start holding the bottle themselves and is a transition to a sippy cup or is that for when they’re learned to hold the bottle? The product description didn’t go into detail and there’s mixed opinions online.

Please no hate! I’m a FTM and don’t want to go about this the wrong way or get something that is for older babies.
