Jury service

Just wondering if anyone has had to do jury service while being pregnant? I received a summons today to do jury service in March when I will be 18-20weeks pregnant. I spoke to them on the phone and they said this doesn’t make me exempt from doing it and I can defer it for 12 months but I think having a baby wouldn’t make it easier. So I’m better off doing it now. But, as I’ll be awaiting my 20wk scan roughly in those two weeks, would they excuse me to go to it? Or would I have to reschedule it for before or after? Thanks for any advice xx
