When did you go into labor with your first?

X

I’m an executive assistant and the main receptionist at a corporate office. I’m due with my first baby in March. My OB office actually gave me a range instead of a specific due date. I’ve been telling people a date in the middle just to keep in simple, but it’s actually a 5 day range.

Work wants to know soon when I plan on starting my leave. If I go into labor early that’s one thing, but they want a specific date I’ll be out of the office by for sure. We’d all rather if I didn’t go into labor at work lol, but I also don’t want to be out needlessly early and just to be waiting around at home.

So my question is, when did you go into labor with your first? How did you handle maternity leave? If you had to give a set date, would the last date of my dd range be practical or should I set it for sooner? (My manager thinks the Friday before the earliest date in my range would be a good last day, but I feel like that would be too soon and in case I go past my due date I don’t want to have wasted that maternity leave time).

Also, working from home until my due date isn’t an option unfortunately.
