Autism??

My ladies anyone any Advice my health visitor told me today she’s 99.9% sure my 2half year old has autism. She said it’s to early for him to be diagnosed but she went a referral of to a behavioural thing and which she said they will most likely see him and just put him straight onto the autism list for help! Has this happend to anyone else? As I’m quite worried to be honest :(

I second - it is not too early to diagnose. Behavior analyst here (ABA therapy) with kids with autism and I have worked with kids diagnosed at 18 months. I work with children generally 2 years - 6 years. A diagnosis is honestly going to be your golden ticket to getting services and early intervention is KEY to pushing toward catch-up with typically developing peers. If you have any questions about behavioral therapy I would be happy to answer them. I would highly suggest to push for your kiddo and get services started. You will find a place of support and guidance in what the diagnosis means and possibilities

You might not be able to get an actual diagnosis this early but getting them into an early intervention program will be super beneficial down the line!

It’s too young to diagnose. Perhaps get a second option and when he’s old enough, get him tested. There’s really nothing wrong with those who are autistic. It doesn’t lower quality of life or put their well being in danger.

As a teacher run a special needs school that specifically deals with autism and speech and language difficulties. I can assure you that early help is brilliant, if you strongly feel that he is t autistic then go with your gut, it is hard to get an early diagnosis as some things can be phases in kids, but if he is autistic early intervention can help him and you. 
It will give you support and strategies to support him in his development and generally in life. Autism is a very broad and ranging spectrum, each case can be very different and very few autistic children are the same. I’m my school of 150+ I feel there aren’t even two kids the same. It’s amazing to have a health visitor that is eager to help and sounds brilliant. 
It will be ok and he will be the most amazing little boy!! Support him where you can and ask for help when you need it 💕

Yes early intervention is so important. I’m a speech therapist. Even the if it’s not autism, it sounds like he’s behind in communication skills. The earlier he starts therapy the better!

It’s not to early at 2 btw. Depending on the severity of it. Tbh I’d much rather have a child with downs than saver autism.
