Assisted hatching

Hi ladies! I wanted to check if anyone here has done assisted hatching, and if so, what were the reasons (if you don’t mind sharing)? Was it offered as an option or mandatory?

I got my cost estimate from my new fertility clinic today and they included this in the price breakdown. I spoke with my coordinator as to why, as assisted hatching was never mentioned to me by the doc. She will check with the doc and embryologist if we can skip this, but said that assisted hatching might be the norm at their clinic but will get back to me. I was 29 at time of my egg retrieval, all labs normal and no history of miscarriages or failed transfers. We did a fresh cycle that resulted in our daughter and are preparing for a frozen transfer. Our diagnosis is MFI. So I’m confused why would I need this extra step, which id rather skip for now, and just see how the first frozen transfer goes.
