Short cervix at 21 weeks

So i found out not only am i having a baby girl but i have a short cervix. Doc prescribed me progesterone pills and i need to go back next week and they will tell me if i need to have a Cerclage done. (They stitch my cervix together so prevent preterm labor) I’m freaking out and i know my hormones are raging but i couldnt help but to cry and cry some more because i cant imagine going into preterm labor and something happening to my baby girl. She said something about having an incompetent cervix I’m like ugh 😢Everyone who has been through this i would love to hear your stories and have more of an understanding of what’s to expect and etc...
