How did labor begin for you?

I’m very curious as to how you know you’re really in labor. I feel like I might start going in to labor and not even know it because I already have such awful back and hip pain I’m not sure I’ll know the difference 😅😂 please comment when/where you went into labor and how you knew it was the real deal!

I was walking in the hallway at work and my water broke everywhere. Like there was a giant puddle of liquid under me and my pants were soaked. 
It was just great.

First time out of the clue started getting contractions at 6:30 am, had her at 9:30 am was pretty straightforward. My second my water randomly broke and contractions wouldn’t start so I had to be induced

My first my water broke then contractions, but the other 5 it was the contractions coming at the same intervals, but getting closer together and stronger that made me sure. Not to say this didn't take hours or days to confirm at times, but it was eventually confirmed by timing them and monitoring their intensity. First labors can go on for days, it's just that you need to go to the hospital when they are 5 min apart, lasting for 1 minute each, for over 1-2 hours without easing up, and to the point where you cannot talk between them and you need pain relief or your water breaks. Otherwise if you go in early, you will be put on a timer of sorts, and if you don't progress as fast as they deem you should, there will likely be interventions which, in the US, often lead to cesarean sections which might have been avoided if moms were allowed to labor at their own pace, as shown in other countries where home birth and unmedicated birth is common with midwives and are done out of hospitals.

With my first, I was in target and I got my first contractions! I didn’t k ow what kind pain it was until I explained it to my star. Lol. Then 4 hours later my water broke as I walked throughout the day. 
With my second, my baby’s placenta erupted 😔 I was induced right Away & she came 3 weeks early !

I left like it was about to be my period. Like that feeling of aching in your lower abdomen. That night my water broke!

I thought I was having Braxton hicks. Super light very irregular contractions that barely felt like anything at all. Then my water broke and the contractions were instantly back to back and so painful I couldn't talk through them. So I actually knew I was in labor only when my water broke.

I was have contractions for daaaays but I wasn’t dilating so its not always an immediate sign. You’ll know for sure when your water breaks I would say
