ABC's!?
So, I have not been around children younger than 3 until I had my son, so I'm sorry if I sound stupid. But I am so surprised that most kids by 2 can recite the ABC's song! And count to 10 and even down from 10. My mind is blown. My son isn't there yet and I feel bad like I haven't practiced enough with him, but we're still working on 2-3 sentences. He veryyyy infrequently will use 2-3 word sentences. Like 3-4 times so far now over the past couple months.
Anyways, I'm just wondering, do some of your kids actually sing the abc's without imitating you or a song playing? He recognizes A and R. Knows how many 2 is. That's about it. I'm pretty dang proud, but I want to homeschool, so I'd like to get better about teaching if I should. I just don't push when he's clearly not interested. And he definitely checks out if I try more than he wants to. Actually, i used to do puzzles and shape sorters with him and those colored rings and he'd always act like he couldn't do it (3 times I watched him without him knowing and he put puzzle pieces in the right spot, stacked the rings correctly like it was nothing, and put shapes in the right spots effortlessly!) I'm definitely not a pushy person, idk why he'd pretend like he can't, does anyone else's toddlers do stuff like that?
