When to announce to family

So this is my first pregnancy and my in laws first grand baby.  I was planning on telling them at 8 weeks at my birthday.  Is this too early?

I told my family as soon as I found out (5 weeks) I'm currently 20 weeks now

I told my parents and my in laws a week after testing positive. I think I was about 5 weeks. I waited to tell the rest of my family and friends until 14 weeks. It’s completely up to you when you feel comfortable. I knew that if something were to happen I would want the support from my parents and in laws.

It’s completely up to you!! My parents knew around 6 weeks. Then the rest of immediate family I told at 9 weeks. Then I announced on social media at 10 weeks. I just did what felt right

We told parents and siblings at 5 weeks with the first, mainly because if anything did happen I didn’t want to start a conversation of “I WAS pregnant but...” I feel like I’d lean on my mum and sister for support if I needed them so telling them early was better for me. We didn’t tell many more people until I started showing though

I told my mom immediately but waited to tell anyone else until after our first appt when everything g was confirmed and we heard the heartbeat.
