Clomid?

Hey everyone. So today I’ll have my first gyno appointment where I’ll discuss ttc, I’m 21 years old and have been ttc for a year with no luck at all. I’ve tried everything in the book before coming to the doctors and I’ve been researching fertility treatments, but I’m so nervous :/ is it easy being prescribed clomid? How effective was it for you? Do you recommend it?

Answer

It is a common first level of intervention. Many doctors will require testing first, perhaps including blood work, ultrasound, HSG, and semen analysis. It isn't "hard" per se, but it shouldn't be handed out like candy. Many people have success with it, but many don't. It is limited and doctors won't prescribe it for an unlimited amount of time. It did not result in a pregnancy for us.

Answer

I was prescribed it at my first appointment with no test, not monitored, nothing. Needless to say, I didn't go back to that clinic.
