Do you let your baby cry it out?

I think it depends on the child, and there is SO MUCH grey area in CIO. With my first, I finally learned that it takes her 20ish minutes of crying/whimpering/talking/moaning before she can fall asleep. She’s almost 3 now, and still does that. It’s just her wind-down process. If I go in, she just restarts the process. With my second I check on him every 5 minutes, and if I have to go in more than twice than I know he isn’t going to sleep because something else is wrong. It just takes time to learn what kind of support they need to put themselves to sleep.

CIO is inhumane. Studies have shown that while baby "learns" to "self soothe" they are actually learning that mom isn't coming to comfort them and they just suffer in silence. The CIO method is only to make the mom feel better for not doing what her nurturing side is telling her to do.

I do modified cio. Like give her 5 mins then go in and then 10 mins then go in

I do every 5 min. Did this for 3 weeks & now Sleeps through the night and barely cries

I do and I hate it. I can’t even go in to console her though because it just makes her more hysterical. It’s not great.

It depends.. But I think I do.. I mean he barely ever cries longer than 2 minutes... And if something happened or something is wrong his cry is at a different intensity.. So then I check&console
