I mean, what caused your husband to say this? If I was making ridiculous demands, my husband might say something similar. His working ridiculous hours is to secure a good future for his family, which includes me. Putting too much on him might eventually cause him to lose his cool.

My partner knows work is important it’s what keeps his family afloat. That’s life. He can’t knock it back just for any old reason. But when the time comes he knows his priority. Just recently my dad fell ill and sadly passed away. Clearly I was to busy being in the hospital as well as dealing with baby appointments. He already cleared it with his supervisor he was not coming in for a bit until i was sorted because I needed him. His kids needed a functioning parent and I needed to be away with my family. He didn’t use it as a holiday he cleaned, he cooked, he even took the kids on play dates so I could focus on what was
Important. And was about 24/7 if I got the call I could just take off
If he or his work turned around and said working was more important than my needs.... his wife or kids I’d be the first to tell him where to go, finds new job and then the next breath be calling his work. He’s not just gonna take the day off cuz I wanna go out for breaky but if I need him he’s there.

My ex didn’t say it, but that’s how it was. He put everything above our family and then tried to turn it around and blame me when it broke down. My kids are my everything. Yes, work is important. Without it, we couldn’t survive, but I would walk out of my job tomorrow if they told me to prioritize them over my kids. 🤷🏼‍♀️

He’s never said that but I know work is super important because it’s our livelihood. My husband works a lot but still ensures that he gives me all the time he can and makes me feel loved and appreciated when he’s gone.
