I smoked while TTC.  I stopped the second I got my positive test. I am a fairly heavy smoker and have been pregnant 3 times and have stopped smoking with ease all 3 times and don’t resume until I am completely done breastfeeding (12+ months usually).

I was a heavy user, but once I decided to TTC, I stopped 3 months before we actually began to try to get pregnant- and took frequent THC tests to ensure ALL THC was completely out of my system before we started trying to conceive. THC lingers in your system for up to 3 months (depending on your usage- too me 2.5 months to get it out of my system). And that alone can be damaging to a growing fetus. My son is now 1 year old and im jo longer breastfeeding, but we are TTC again, so still not touching it. And actually, now that I've been clean for 2 years, it's hard to justify going back to it after I'm done TTC/breastfeeding. I just don't see it fitting into my lifestyle the way it used to. Maybe once in a bluemood socially, when I have a night off, but even then... probably not.  And this is coming from someone (me) who was a HUUUGE smoker before kids. I guess I've matured and kids have changed me. (Its legal where I live, and I also had a medicinal card for it as well)
