We just moved to a new state. My daughter is 3 and went to a wonderful preschool where we used to live. She loved going and always wanted to go. It was only 3 days a week 9-12 & very organized.

We moved at the beginning of January. She was sad about leaving her school. It broke my heart! I started looking for preschools near us once we got settled in our new place.

I found one that had a spot open & my aunt actually worked at for years. It’s a day care as well. I felt like it was the best option & best quality in this area. They also have a really good Curriculum. However, I didn’t like that they had 1 teacher for her class room full of 9 three year olds. At her other school they had 2 teachers & 5 students. But my aunt knew everyone there so I went ahead.

On Monday my daughter went and was SO excited. This place is open from 6:30am-6:30pm but I decided I would take her Mon-Wednesday from 8-3 like a full school day. They do morning actives, snack, play outside or in the gym, have lunch then nap then go play more. so I wanted her to get to experience the full day. But I was nervous about nap time since my daughter stopped taking naps unless we’re in the car& she’s never even slept away from me. She sleeps in her own bed in her own room but never stayed with someone else (other than my mom)

Anyways, i go to drop her off she starts playing right away. I called at 12:30 to see how she was doing during nap time. The director said she did say she wanted me but then laid down & slept for ab 30 mins. I picked her up at 3 & she said she had so much fun. BUT she was in a bad mood the rest of the day & being extremely moody.

The next day (Tuesday) she was looking forward to going but once we got to her classroom she started grabbing me & crying that she didn’t want to go. I had to keep myself from crying too lol. Her teacher sucked at trying to help me! She tried grabbing her from my arms but my daughter started screaming more & I said no I can’t do that.

My daughter has NEVER done that.

Finally, the director who I really liked came to help. I kept trying to comfort my daughter & tell her she would have so much fun ect..

The director said she would call me if she continued to cry. So I left even though I did not want to.

The director called me 10 mins later & said she stopped crying almost immediately & was enjoying story time. Then I called again at nap time to check on her & she said my daughter was sound asleep.

When I picked her up she was in a great mood! She said she wants to play with her friends. So I felt much better about it all as well.

However, that night she started to run a low grade fever & was crying in her sleep that she didn’t want to go to her new school. After a sleepless night, i was tired & so was she. I know she caught something from another kid there (I saw a little boy with thick green snot) but that’s to be expected, just annoying. So I kept her home yesterday. She doesn’t feel the best but not the worst.

Then I start thinking ab her getting our newborn sick (I’m 35 weeks pregnant) if she keeps catching stuff from other kids. So I’m feeling conflicted on sending her back once she’s all better.

but AGAIN last night she wakes up crying that she doesn’t want to go to her new school. There has to be a reason. She’s never woke up crying saying stuff in her sleep.

I don’t really want to send her back. Am I being “over protective” ? Or should I try one more time & maybe pick her up before nap time?

I just can’t drop her off if she’s screaming for me again again. Clearly she doesn’t like it. She always loved going to her old school.
