Zoloft Side Effects
Back in November, after at least 10 years (probably longer), I decided I wanted to get my anxiety diagnosed.
I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and was put on Zoloft 25mg. I had no major side effects except nausea within the first week, which is normal.
I had my 1 month follow up and because I was still having symptoms, we increased my dose to 50mg.
About two weeks after starting my new dose, I started having insomnia (going to bed at 3am or later) and bad daytime drowsiness. I honestly could probably sleep 12+ hours a day.
At my follow up appointment (beginning of January), I told them I wanted to try playing around with when I took my medication to see if time-of-day would change anything.
So far there are no changes and I'm getting really discouraged. My doctor said there were other options, but the biggest reason I want to stay on the Zoloft is because she recommended it as a safe option if I'm trying to get pregnant within the next year or two.
Are there any recommendations of safe options to wake themselves up when they're on a medication with drowsiness as a side effect? I've been drinking caffeinated tea (I really dislike coffee) to wake myself up with varied results.
