If the tech does a 3D ultrasound they know if you are hydrated or not? I didn't know this till a week ago 
The more hydrated you are the better the picture
The more dehydrated you are the worse the picture
I still don't know if this is true but if it is that is pretty cool

You need to be hydrated for a 3D because in order to get a good look at baby, there needs to be a lot of fluid around them.    What you drink directly coincides with the amount of amniotic fluid baby has. It takes several days-up to a week for it to make it to the uterus. The place I went to asks us to drink extra water at least 1-2 weeks before the appointment.

They usually recommend you drink up to a certain amount of water before a 3D, but like someone else said other factors play a role in the picture quality as well but yes you want to be hydrated for best reuslts

It all depends on how far along I are and how much amniotic fluid you have and the positioning of the baby all has a factor on how good of a quality the picture will be

Having a full bladder MAY help get a better picture, but it may also make it harder to get a good picture. All depending on how far along you are and how baby is positioned.
