Should I let dad be involved ???

So I’m due in about 7 weeks and I honestly don’t want the dad at the birth or coming home with me . I try to battle within myself if I’m just being hormonal or am I right .. he has made my pregnancy stressful and negative this ENTIRE time. Now granted we had good times he would be affectionate and kiss my belly etc but overall I been very stressed and lonely. This is a ex I got pregnant by and I don’t want him anymore ... 
I want space and I need space. I rather my mother there and present than him ... is this selfish ?

Labor is hard. You should have people there who help relieve stress, not cause it, regardless of relationship to you.

The last thing you want is to be stressed while in labor. If you believe he will be helpful, let him attend. If you think it’ll do more harm than good, find someone else to help you birth.

If the father is not your current partner then it’s completely logical to want to bring your support people closer at this time in your life. Giving birth is a huge life event that will create memories and emotions and you will need support going through it. If you want your Mum there then that’s your choice. You can even talk to hospital staff to prevent certain people from approaching you while you are in care if that is a concern. After you are home and settled you can assess your relationship with your ex moving forward and what part of yours and your child’s life he will play and how you will go about managing that.

Nope , he had his chances to prove to be there. He has proven it is best not to have him there with you.you're going to ask yourself do you want him to be in the child's life if not then don't even tell him to sign the birth certificate tell the nurses you do not want any person to sign the birth certificate besides you. you want child support then he's going to be required to do a DNA test and if you don't just let it go sounds like your child's better off without him in his life.

Negative energy can actually stall labor and increase risk for a C-section so i always recommend women to find someone who can support them 100%. No one has a right to your birth especially if they cannot help keep you calm and level headed

He can still be in the baby's life, but birth is your time.

I feel both ways about this. Your choice on who gets to be where. If he is going to be in this child’s life then I think he should be allowed some access to be with his child. It doesn’t mean he needs to be in the room.
