Strange time to ovulate

So I decided for the hell of it to take an ovulation test today. I was under the assumption that it would be negative because I’m already 27 days into my cycle. Turned out it was positive. But I’m suppose to start my period this week. Did I just have an LH surge? My periods have been unpredictable since I have birth. What do you ladies think?
