I am just about 15months pp, I am still nursing about 2 times a day. I haven’t gotten my period back, only have had spotting. Would going on the pill for a couple months bring back my period? We want to start ttc!! 💗

It’s doesn’t really work like that. You’re obviously a person who’s periods just don’t come when you’re breastfeeding. I would suggest weaning off the breastfeeding and I bet your period will come back. Getting on the pill may bring your periods back but there’s no guarantee that they will stay when you get off the pill, especially if you’re still breastfeeding.

Birth control pills can sometimes reduce your milk supply, so if you are wanting to continue breastfeeding I would consider that! Also, not sure it would make sense to go on the pill if you want to TTC bc the pill is meant to prevent pregnancy. Weaning off breastfeeding can be really emotional thing!! I just weaned a couple of weeks ago and my cycles still aren’t regulated. I was really regular before getting pregnant so I’m using OPKs to help track ovulation. Good luck!!!

The pill won't bring it back. Stopping breastfeeding will. I breastfed until a little over 2 weeks ago. I stopped, and luck clockwork,  my period started yesterday. I haven't had a period at all (and ZERO spotting) during my whole breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding can send signals to the brain not to release an egg. Some women will still get their periods regardless of breastfeeding. Whereas others (like us) do not get periods while breastfeeding. If you are looking to conceive again, you'll likely need to stop breastfeeding to increase your chances. Some women definitely get pregnant while breastfeeding. But without a period (spotting doesn't count), you can't get pregnant.
