When to start shopping

I’m 6 weeks 1 day and I want to shop sooooo bad but I know I shouldn’t when did you mommies start to shop for baby?

Start a registry but keep it private! You can enjoy picking things out but you can change your mind as the weeks progress. Plus a registry is free - even if you never make it public.

I feel like im the craziest one on this post but.... i started buying when i started trying which was 4 months ago. I finally got my positive! i have a box of baby clothes (all thrifted) ive only bought things that I absolutely adore like overalls i love babies in overalls so ive found a few at $1 or less and yes i did take them home. I also have a registry private that i sometimes mess with when im bored so i look at baby stuff on amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️ no harm to me. This is my third pregnancy will be my 4th child ❤️

Go crazy, I did! Nothing wrong with being excited! I created my registry right off the bat and can gradually add what I feel is necessary. I don’t know the gender so I buy a lot of gender neutral clothes but if I see something from either gender that I seriously adore I’ll just buy it anyways. 😅 I also buy baby books, bibs, etc little things as well!

I’d wait until after your first trimester just to be safe, but after that if you have the space, go for it! I wish we’d started gradually getting ready earlier on, but for various reasons (we initially thought we’d be moving) we didn’t until like 28 weeks. I’m now 34 weeks and we’re still getting set up. If you can get mainly set up in your second trimester definitely do that! I found I had the most energy then and felt pretty good, so was able to get a lot more done, and it’ll be a lot less stressful for you to have it done earlier (or at least just not have to do it all at once).

With my daughter we got everything around 29 weeks (thank God because she came at 37 weeks.) With my son I didn’t learn my lesson so I literally got discharged from the hospital and had to stop at target on the way home. And with this one, I haven’t gotten rid of anything for either kids so we are good. 😂

I am waiting till after my shower before buying anything plus I am asking for sister in law for any hand me downs etc and once I know what I need then I am off to the shops 😆

I started around 22 weeks. Registry was slowly built but I learned so much as I got further that it changed constantly. Glad I waited on some of the bigger items especially

I’ve started a registry  but it’s private and I won’t post it probably till I’m 20+ weeks. I’ve only bought one onesie for when I do the announcement. I would wait especially until after 13 weeks to buy stuff

I made the mistake of buying small things my
First pregnancy at 5 weeks because well I’m crazy and I was SO excited. They are still sitting in my spare room after multiple miscarriages and I’ve never been able to use. I won’t go in that room. Don’t do it to yourself just in case!
