I'm going to preface this with: I am NOT black (if I'm out of line with using this term call me out as well, I'm always looking to be better) so take my opinion with a grain of salt. 
This feels like apples and oranges. While the origin of PP was to minimise POC communities, specifically African American, human rights typically go hand in hand with freedom of choice. That may be his opinion but I think they're not entirely related.
