Tampons?
Ok I am a 24 year old women. I have never used a tampon. Growing up my mom was “conservative” in strange ways. One way being my sister and I were not aloud to use tampons. “We didn’t need to be shoving things up our vaginas before marriage”.
Well now I am an adult that is out of the house and living my own life. I have wanted to use tampons for years, but have honestly been embarrassed to ask about how to use them. Well I had been looking online and watching YouTube videos. Then that scared me about toxic shock syndrome. Looking more into it I understand it is rare and you can take precautions for that.
My problem now is I can’t seem to put in the tampon. I tried one and got the applicator in, but felt weird so I took it out. I figured my problem is I got super. So I bought a variety pack to try what kind I need for the givin day. I’m still scared to put it in, but I’m going to wait until a heavier day to try then.
I do have some question that I would like answers by people that have been using them for years.
1st - Do you change your tampon every time you pee? I feel like I use the bathroom a lot and would be gross to put a pee soaked string in my underwear. On the other side of that it seems like it would be a waste to change a tampon every time I go. Is there a trick to not peeing on the string? Lol
2nd- do you sleep with a tampon in? I rarely every sleep a whole 8 hours and I know that’s like the limit of time you should have one in.
3rd- how do you know when it’s time to change it?
4th- can you bleed through a tampon or does it just “stomp” you up so nothing gets out once it’s full?
Sorry for this long passage. Any advice would be helpful.
