Questions pregnancy
Why do you have to test for prediabetes in pregnancy?
Why do you have to get an ultrasound?
Why do you have to get checked in about monthly to bi weekly, weekly.
Why do you have to get that blood test after pregnancy test
If as an American you take multivitamins are healthy have a healthy medical history, take prenatal vitamins after pregnancy test at home, have a heart beat monitor at home, have a weight scale at home, can measure yourself, you see the doctor once a year they already ran a blood test screening healthy. Your diet is healthy.
Why is there this law a requirement to get early prenatal care why do you have to see a doctor or midwife
If you educated yourself on prenatal care, reading books on pregnancy, infant care taking parenting classes. You eat healthy. Avoid the foods, beverages listed.
There's this requirement in the USA to have a physician or midwife during pregnancy and to have early prenatal care or they list you as a risk and they collect urine , feces from the infant as soon as they are born, that can be painful and uncomfortable for the infant and insulting to the mother. They take the mother's blood throughout the pregnancy and urine test. So if they performed blood test and urine screening why do they test child for drugs if no drugs were found in mom's system.
I had a friend that went to the doctor as soon as she found out she was pregnant they confirmed pregnancy gave her prescription prenatal vitamins, blood test, urine test, she went to appointment had that drink to test diabetes,The doctor would check listen to heartbeat and position of baby later on. The main hospital not the clinic she was at had an ultrasound the doctor set the appointment 20weeks when she was able to go. When she went to the ultrasound technician she said why didn't you get an ultrasound at twelve weeks this is late prenatal care and reported her on the file as No Early prenatal care. So people can't choose what time they want to have an ultrasound schedule it.
I think what that ultrasound technician did was wrong my friend did have early prenatal care I was her support person days her husband was working. I went with her to all the appointments, the ultrasound was healthy also
My question is why is it necessary to have all those things done if you are healthy and can't you choose to have an ultrasound or not.
As a mother you know your body and doctors know yours through blood, urine test and medical history so why is it necessary to have all those things done. If on file the patient is healthy?
I think it's disrespectful to place a bag on a newborn private area to collect test for drugs just for being flagged as no early prenatal care.
Also there's this pressure to circumcise boys as soon as they are born and to have hep. B shots asap I feel like that can wait for when newborn sees pediatrician.
