My doctors think we should do an induction

So my doctor is talking to me about doing an induction for my second baby. Mainly because my labor and delivery with the first one went so wrong! I love an hour away from the nearest hospital and my labor with my first was so short and I almost died. I was 41 weeks and 4 days. I started having contractions and they were about 10 minutes apart so I didn't think it was time yet. Especially with the hospital being so far. An hour after my contractions started my water broke and my husband and my stepson who was 15 at the time got me in the car. My husband is panicking and my stepson needs to be a fucking doula because during a contractions he would grab my hand and say "It'sokay, it will be over soon. Breath." We are 30 minutes from the hospital and I feel an intense need to push. I couldn't ignore it anymore so my stepson grabs my hands and encourages me to push while I'm screaming. My husband is panicking more while he's driving. My stepson just kept saying "You got this! You can do it! Believe in yourself! You can do it!" My daughter was born in the car. I didn't realize because I was focused on her but I was losing a lot of blood. I got dizzy and hear voices talking to me and I see my stepson take his new sister and everything went black. I woke up in the hospital. I had lost so much blood, almost died. So that is why my doctor is suggesting we try an induction at 39 weeks because of distance and I have a history of very short labors. Did anyone have a positive induction stories and what should I expect?
