Should I rely on Peekaboo’s results?

I want to do my gender reveal but am scared if this is not as accurate should I wait or had anyone had this done and came back correct ?

How far along are you? If you’re past about 10-11 weeks, it’s probably correct. The way these tests work is that they look for genetic markers on the Y chromosome and try to amplify them. If there’s Y chromosomes in the blood (ie you’re having a boy), the result is “positive” and they tell you it’s a boy. If it comes back “negative” it means no Y chromosomes were found and you’re having a girl. False results with boys are much higher, since husbands and sons leave their DNA all over the house and can contaminate the tests. But if you’re far enough along and the test results say girl, it’s probably correct!! 🥰
I did sneak peek with my son and I sterilized the entire kitchen and dining room and made my husband leave the room lol (I’m a molecular biologist). My results were accurate. My sister in law got a false positive (aka boy result even though she had a girl) because she didn’t sterilize the testing environment and her husband’s leftover DNA contaminated the test.
