How do you know you’re done?

How did you know you were done having kids? I have two boys. My husband says he’s done but I’m on the fence. How did you know you were done?

You’re done because your husband says he’s done. Unless you’re going to leave him, that is. I have over 20 excellent quality embryos frozen. I’m certainly not going to use them just because they’re there. My husband and I determined, and agreed to, a limit before we started.

My sister gas 3 ,1 girl 2 boys she wanted another her husband didn't so she took out her iud without telling him. One day in an argument she let it slip. So he went to get a vasectomy against her will. They're still together but almost divorced over it. She was definitely in the wrong but so was he. They should've talked it out.

My husband said he was done after number 2 and we’re on number 4 now, so I don’t agree with the other commenter. Not without knowledge of who you and your husband both are. We (mostly me) always talked about having four kids so I knew going into baby #4 that it’d be our last baby. I couldn’t stop wondering who my other kids would be when my husband tried saying he was “done” after #2 and again after #3. I think if I had taken him literally and not stood my ground/opened up the convo more about more kids, I would’ve always wondered what life would be like with four kids.

We used to want 4.. but we had 2 and decided we’re done. It’s better financially mostly. I mean we can definitely afford more but we have plans to travel with the kids so it’s definitely less with just 4 of us. 
Plus if we had a 3rd we would want a 4th... we’re both weird about not wanting an odd number 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know dumb lol.. But yeah it’s better for us. Especially when he gets one out and I get the other. When one fusses then we switch 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

My husband even got a vasectomy. My feeling is if I every really want a bigger family, we will adopt. 
I like my set life, sleep, and worked too hard too get the baby weight off 😅🤣😅😅

My husband does not want more than two so I’ll respect his opinion and not force it or try to change his mind. If I knew I was done I wouldn’t want him trying to make me have more so imo it goes both ways.

We wanted 3. But now have 4. We knew we wanted to be done at 3 because we felt in our hearts that our family was complete. We had a slip up and even though I took a plan B, we still ended up pregnant again. It was really hard to accept at first but shes 3 weeks now and I wouldn't have it any other way. HOWEVER he is getting a vasectomy and I am getting the 10 year IUD.

Personally I swore I was done after my second. My first husband never helped with either kid and I was doing all the housework and cooking on top of working 40 hours a week with a 40 minute commute each way. I was burned out and reached the point where even holding a newborn didn't trigger that normal woman response of wanting a baby. But after we separated and I met my current partner he really wanted a baby to help bring us all together as a big happy blended family. Being happy in a relationship made it easier to want to do this but I also knew already at my first appointment that I was going to get my tubes removed after to make sure we were done after this. I wouldn't change having my little princess but we both admit that we look forward to the days once all the kids are grown so we can enjoy some us time! When you are done, I think you just know. Mentally or possibly biologically some switch just clicks at some point
