Miscarriage naturally or d&c?

So found out I miscarriage. But now to the part where I need to make a decision about not doing a d &c or do it. I need your opinions if you ever been through this.

I chose natural. It took a month for it to happen but im glad that I made the decision.  It gave me more closure, and my insurance is also terrible so I would’ve paid thousands of dollars out of pocket for the d and c.

3 times it went smoothly and I miscarried naturally, the fourth time I took painkillers and I had to have a d&c.

i’m sorry for your loss. i had a d&c in november and i think it allowed my body to heal quicker and it ensured that everything was taken out so there was lower risk of scaring. but i do know people who have chosen to do it naturally. it’s really up to you. it takes a toll on your body either way.

I chose to wait and miscarry naturally. For me; I just felt more terrified of the surgical procedure than anything else. I’ve had a c section so it’s not surgery in general. It was specific to the D&C. I also refused the medication. I wanted to let things progress naturally. 
It’s completely a personal/medical decision between you and your provider.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your little one 😔 Do you mind if I ask how many weeks pregnant you were when you started miscarrying? 
In the past, I've had a miscarriage a little over 10 weeks pregnant but the baby had stopped growing at about 9.5 weeks. The maternity hospital had said I was pretty close to needing the D&C but it was my choice as to whether or not I wanted to take medication or have the procedure done. Personally, I opted to take the medication and miscarry at home where I felt more comfortable and wouldn't have to have a procedure done. 
My apologies if this is a little graphic but... The medication they gave me was meant to be inserted into the vagina and then it would start making you cramp and bleed a little heavier as to make all of the pregnancy tissue come out. I ended up miscarrying completely once I got home before I took it but I used it anyways to make sure all of the tissue came out. 
Later on, the hospital or your obgyn will follow up with you and most likely do another ultrasound to make sure everything has come out so there's no chance of infection or any problems. 
Again, I'm so genuinely sorry for your loss. Don't be afraid to ask for help and surround yourself with support OR take time to grieve and be alone if that's more your style. Best of luck to you. 💞

I had a missed miscarriage and chose to wait it out and see if I could miscarry naturally before going the d&c route. It took a while - I found out 12/21 at 8 weeks that the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks, started bleeding 12/29 and passed everything 1/1, and it’s taken until now for my hcg to get down to 7.3 (yesterday, 2/11).  I know not everyone takes that long but I think the d&c may speed up the process. I just didn’t want surgery unless I absolutely had to. So sorry you’re going through this ❤️

I miscarried at 12 weeks and was not offered a d&c. It was horrible. I passed huge clots, the placenta got stuck coming out, and I needed a blood transfusion. Having a d&c is just as awful I’m sure, but living through the physical parts of a miscarriage was so horrible. I truly believe I had PTSD. I am so sorry for your loss ❤️

I have done both. I actually preferred the experience of the natural option as it was technically faster (over in 5 hours of cramps/bleeding vs a whole day at the hospital, surgery, feeling groggy etc). I also had bad pain after the D&C - although apparently that’s not common. 
The waiting however and not knowing when it would happen is what made me choose the D&C the second time
