Does sitting unsupported/unassisted mean that baby can sit up with no props (pillows, etc) and arms not touching the ground or that she can get herself into a sit herself with no help?

My baby can sit when i put her into a seated position with nothing around her, but I’ve never seen her get into that position herself. When are they supposed to be able to get into that position themselves?
