What do you think?
Hi all!
This post is coming purely from a questioning step mom.
At the age of 11, my step daughter was raped by a 13 year old boy (it has been handled by the authorities).
She asked me a question that, for the first time, I didn’t know how to answer.
We have a very close relationship, she lives with us full time.
She asked me if those who were raped could still be virgins.
As an adult, this doesn’t matter to me.
But as a young person, that experience means so much.
I told her that the label of virginity doesn’t determine the importance of the relationship.
I told her I would never ever tell her something that wasn’t true. And I also told her that those who have consent taken from them should still cherish the moments that consent is given.
I just don’t feel like I said enough.
