I’m in quite a dilemma right now. I am currently 6 Weeks, 4 Days pregnant and am suffering from a severe tooth infection/abscess.

I went to the ER a week ago for it and was prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg, 3 times daily for 7 days - which I confirmed with OB, dentist, pharmacist was ok to take. The Amoxicillin seemingly worked to clear the infection for a few days, but now it feels like it’s coming back.

I also scheduled an appointment to meet with my new primary dentist for a tooth extraction, however, before they can take me in, they’ve requested that I have my OB send a release form over giving the ok to proceed with any treatment. Long story short, my OB will not sign off on any dental work until I’m in my second trimester. As I previously stated, I am only 6 Weeks, 4 Days along, so I have quite a ways to go until then!

I really don’t want this infection to spread while I wait to have the dental work done. Right now, I am so paranoid and worried that I am harming my baby! 😞😞😞 I just want this tooth out of my mouth ASAP!

Has anyone ever dealt with this issue before? And any advice on what I should do?
