I really regret giving my little one a dummy

She didn't have one straight away she never took to one but ended up using the nipple for comfort so we did move to a dummy I do regret giving her one as we got to nearly 5 months without one :( I feel stupid for giving her one but I wondered when to take it away to stop dummy teeth
