Should I change the birth certificate?

So, basically I’m having second thoughts on my son’s name. 😬 
We named him “Jack” but now my husband and I are thinking we should have gone with “Jacques” instead. 
We love French names and have our daughter a French name as well. What do you think?

How old is your son? Does everyone already refer to him as Jack? If so, I wouldn’t change it.
I prefer Jack anyways.

My husband and I only considered the names we were actually going to call the kid. For example, we were considering Maggie but not Margaret. We thought the kid’s legal name should be what they’re called. Also, as silly as it sounds, I would always think about what they’re name is going to be like for them when they go to school- how easy is it for others to pronounce and how likely are they going to be teased. If it’s for cultural or familial reasons I can totally understand, those were just the things we thought about when coming up with names.

It’s a tough one, we’ve named our daughter with a different spelling to the common version (totally unintentional, I didn’t even realize that most people spelt it differently until after we’d registered) and now EVERYONE spells it wrong. 
We have beautiful personalized gifts all spent incorrectly and pretty much every single card and message we’ve received has been wrong so now I’m considering changing it to the more common spelling so she doesn’t spend her entire life correcting people but I’m undecided. Half of me thinks change it and half thinks let it be, we liked the way we chose so leave it. It’s so hard to decide! 
I suppose the main thing is will you regret it if you didn’t, will you always have that I wish we’d done it thought and if so go for it. Now is the time to do it if you want too x

I mean if you want to change it, then now is the time imo. Especially if you think you will regret it. I am French but personally I prefer Jack.
