Doctor Thinks I’m Lying
Hello,
I’m not sure if this post will reach out far. I’m a teenager, (not going to specify my exact age) and have an aunt that has endometriosis. I’ve been on Birth Control, Naproxen, been told to take Ibuprofen for extremely intense cramps that leave me in bed sobbing and wondering what’s going on with me- And why none of my friends experience this either.
I AM NOT SAYING I HAVE ENDOMETRIOSIS.
I have not been diagnosed with anything due to my doctor being unsure. I’ve been in pain for around 5 years now, and have had blood tests and ultrasounds. It wasn’t bad at first, more pain when peeing but nothing as intense. Though, now I have cramps days before my period, and intense cramps + heavy bleeding the first two days. Now, I understand this can be classed under “normal” period symptoms, but I know I shouldn’t be in this much pain to an extent where I cannot attend school and it is beginning to impact my focus. My doctor says I’m too young to have endometriosis, to which I’m confused about. Is there a “specific age” that endometriosis begins or can begin rising?
I asked for a gynaecologist as well, to which I was told “He probably won’t get back to you, you’re too young to have endometriosis anyways.”
Please tell me how old I should “be”, and if I’m just.. Overreacting? I know my body though, but I don’t want to put my family through tons of time trying to figure out something that may not really be there. It’s getting scary though, it may impact my future career and nobody knows what’s wrong with me. I feel useless, and have thoughts that I can’t continue on with this pain. Please help.
Thank you ♥️
