Labour signs?

Am 38 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden I feel so sick and my lower back hurts a little bit and my bowel movements have been a bit soft (TMI, sorry) .. is this a sign of labour? Should I phone my maternity unit??
Last time I felt nauseous was when I was like 12 weeks...

I'm sorry to tell you this but I had diarrhea for 2-2.5 weeks before delivering all of my kids. So it does mean there's a hormonal change, but for some unfortunate people like me, that change lasts awhile LOL

It’s an indication that labor is coming in the sense that baby won’t be in there forever and your body is just getting ready. Started happening me around 37 weeks and I’m now overdue- it’s sucky but I like to think of it as the “wind-down process” lol doesn’t mean baby is coming today this week or this month but your body is at least trying to get ready

Its very common to feel sick again the third trimester. It doesnt really indicate labor. Many women say they have diarrhea before labor but it could still be weeks. Contractions or your water breaking are the only reliable signs of labor. Even dilation can happen way before labor. Contractions are more like menstrual cramps that come in waves and you can time them. They will be consistent and not change if you move position. Mine started at 15 minutes apart on the dot. I dont think it sounds like labor is here yet.
