Laying down awake for naps

futureboymom

Does anyone lay their baby down awake for naps? How long does baby sleep? How did you accomplish this?

My son goes down awake for bedtime and babbles until he falls asleep within 10 minutes. When he wakes for his feeding at night, I can put him down awake again.

For naps, I have to bounce him to sleep and lay him in the crib asleep. He usually only last 45 minutes max and then I hold him the rest of the time. His daytime naps generally last 2 to 2.5 hours. I let him take his evening nap in his crib only and that last 30 to 45 minutes. I tried one time to put him down awake for his evening nap. He ended up flipping over and doing tummy time. He started winding down and I thought he might fall asleep but his lullaby stopped and he lost his GD mind. He ended up not napping at all.

I'm fearful of trying to put him down awake because he sleeps better at night with long naps. Also we're on a really good schedule with feedings of 7 am, 11 am, 3 pm, 7 pm and approx 330 am and I do not want to lose that consistency.
