Is an anxiety disorder grounds to be excused from jury duty?

I got a letter in the mail today & it was a summons to appear for jury duty. The court is in the next town over (about 10 miles). I was diagnosed with panic disorder when I was 15 & it affects my daily activities including driving by myself. I can’t even go to the grocery store by myself. I also have PTSD from being sexually assaulted when I was 18. I just know being in court again is going to seriously mess with my anxiety...

You maaaaay be able to get medically excused, but I’m not 100%. I think it will really depend on what they deem excused from jury duty.

You just need a doctor to sign off on it and they'll excuse you

U would have to find out I know it hard to get excuse from those guess depends how bad ur anxiety is to and what happens to excuse you talk to your doctor

It might be. You’ll have to ask for a pardon or whatever and they’ll probably require a dr.s note. Not sure if it’s the same in all states but you log on and enter your juror #. Answer a few questions and at the end there will be a box to click to ask to be pardoned. Several options come up. I just got summonsed and asked to get out of it as I’m a nursing mother. It was allowed with a dr.s note.
