Nova for a girl?

I have some unfavorable associations with the name (the only Nova i know is, uh, trashy to say the least), but my husband loves it. And i like it too!  Trying to figure out if i should work on getting past my bad associations. 
No middle name yet. Possibly Jane, which is a family name on my side. Sibling is Violet.

I think of the girls from Teen Mom. There’s two of them. I don’t mind the name, but instantly associate it to negative .

I live in Nova scotia, Canada and it's a popular dog name. But before it became so popular I always thought of a star, like a super nova and thought it was cute.

Pretty name! Maybe something more classic to compliment the name Violet? Also, to me Nova Jane sounds similar to Novocaine

I cringe everytime I hear Nova for a name!! I’m from Northern Virginia and that’s what everyone around there calls it, Nova
