Anyone take Buspirone 5mg while pregnant?

My doctor prescribed me this low dose of anxiety medication. I’m 18 weeks but just nervous to start taking this being pregnant. Has anyone else taken it?

Unpopular opinion, but if you’re nervous and feel hesitation to take it then I wouldn’t. You have a mama gut instinct for a reason!

I feel differently than the other commenter- people with generalized anxiety often feel nervous about taking new medications, it’s part of anxiety. I also know from personal experience. I was prescribed a low dose of anxiety medicine 4 years ago (I wasn’t pregnant at the time) and it took me almost 6 months to take the medicine because I was so scared. I ended up taking it for 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. I eventually got off of it and then was experiencing terrible anxiety again during my current pregnancy because I had a miscarriage my last pregnancy. My doctor prescribed me the same medicine again - very low dose - I did my research on possible side effects for baby and had a long conversation with my doctor about it and ultimately decided it was best to take it. I started it about a month ago and I’m so glad I did! My anxiety is much, much better which is ultimately better for baby. Good luck!
