Anyone else’s baby not saying full words?

My baby is almost 11 months and still hasn’t said his first word. He’s very vocal though and babbles all day. He’s been significantly early on all his motor skills and his doctor said sometimes kids who are more mobile take longer to talk. Just curious if mine is the only one not talking yet? I’m trying to teach him to wave and clap his hands but can’t do that yet.

As long as your baby is babbling and making lots of different sounds, I wouldn’t worry. They’re only looking for 8-10 words by 18 months! So there’s time. As long as your baby is “communicating” in some way at this age, it’s ok.

Not my 10 month old either. He’s very communicative with pointing and eye contact tho so I feel like he’s going to take his time with words.

Mine doesn’t really seem to say any words with meanings and she isn’t so good at communication but she’s been walking since 9 months

Babies tend not to say full words as such but usually one of the main sounds in a word. Such as 'ca' for cat or 'ck' for duck. Is your little one doing that linked to obvious things? Or just random babbling?

My girl recently said Meow. It’s her first word lol. She doesn’t say any other words. She turned 10 months a week ago. She’s also very mobile. I think it’s OK until they are 12 months if they don’t say any words.
