Boy/Girl Twin Nursery

Jayne

I've been rearranging their nursery from 20 weeks into my pregnancy all the way up until now, at 10 weeks post partum. I think I'm finally *FINALLY* happy with the way it looks.

We began with a wild animal theme - lions, tigers and giraffes mostly. Then as we went on, it leaned towards Australiana-themed. Now we have this cute mix of safari and native Australia. Our babies names even match - Ivy and Darwin!

The plush toys above the window were purchased at zoos/sanctuaries/etc.. during our travels when I was pregnant. We're still in the process of collecting more - we hope to have each native Australian animal sitting up there.

The name board was made by myself, using a chopping board and wooden letters from a local craft shop. Cost me a fraction of what it would have if I'd bought it online, and I kinda like it more knowing it was hand-made.

The cots have been in my family for a couple years, and the chairs belonged to my partner's grandparents / the twin's greatgrandparents. It's lovely having a nursery of items with sentimental value and family history.

Speaking of, that teddy bear was gifted to me when I was just days old. He's going on 22 years old, and I'm so happy to finally pass him on to my own children. Good 'ol Big Ted!

I love how the sunlight fills the room. It's another reason why we chose a yellow/orange colour scheme.

And here's our little reading nook. Still a tiny work in progress as we add more and more books to the collection. The garland is full of photos from throughout the pregnancy, including sonogram photos, photos from our travels, bump pics, etc.

There's a tiny basket of little plush toys, as well as a few on the shelf. A little light up, musical koala and their photo albums tucked safely behind the books. Their baby record books live below the tiny basket, next to a piggy bank that was once mine.

I have loved making their nursery, and I can't wait to fill it with memories!
