Do obs routinely check everyone’s thyroid at the same of pregnancy? Also if u have thyroid pls comment your symptoms ... I’m 25 wks and have been feeling cold a lot more than hot so I’m worried i might have it

Usually they check it at the beginning of pregnancy. If you’re having symptoms ask your doctor!
Part of the reason why they check in early in pregnancy is that in the first trimester baby relies on moms thyroid stores. Once second trimester hits baby can produce their own thyroid hormone. I had thyroid issues prior to pregnancy so they made sure my levels were high enough for me and baby. I do also know some women that have developed thyroid issues during pregnancy.

If you’re concerned, I would ask. I don’t think they generally check unless there’s a reason to. I have a fam history of thyroid issues and although I’ve been tested in the past and tests were normal, I’m being tested again as part of my routine pregnancy bloodwork.

I had my thyroid removed on January 19 due to Graves disease/ hyperthyroidism. I had terrible levels ! My symptoms were weight loss, hair loss, my eyes started to bulge, I developed anxiety, I developed a high heart rate and blood pressure, i was constantly cold, I would constantly be shaking a little, and I felt like I was doing 120 mph everywhere all the time! I know some pregnancies can throw off your thyroid hormone (that’s what initially started my thyroid issues) and normally I believe your doctors check your thyroid levels anyway so I would maybe give them a call if you worried just to easy your mind? If anything they will get you in for a blood draw and start you on pregnancy safe medicine :) ❤️
